Monaco Interiors SHOP NOW OPEN!!

Hello and welcome to the grand opening of my little blog shop! I have listed 5 items and hope you will stop by and see what's for sale.  I will be adding more items this week, but, wanted to carefully choose what I am offering for the opening of the store today.

On another note, I went for two walks on the beach both yesterday and today so I am posting pics. I find the beach endlessly inspirational as I wrote last week.

My design services are now complete with what I offer as well, so if you click on 'Services' I have included pricing with PayPal to make it easy for clients.

Looking forward to another episode tonight of 'Once Upon a Time' though the writers are getting a bit away from the original story and I'm hoping it won't go the route of 'Lost' - I couldn't continue that show after the second season, as it became wacky.

My Mom in Lucky magazine...

My mother passed away six years ago but I submitted her picture to Lucky magazine and they decided to run her story in their 'My Mom, The Style Icon' series.  I love the picture and my mother would have been absolutely over the moon to be featured in a national magazine.  Thank you to the editors of Lucky for running my mother's story. She was very fashionable all her life and loved clothes, jewelry, handbags and shoes...don't we all??!!

Tiny cats...photography 104...

When I was a child, I collected little things...little anythings...here are some pix showcasing my little kittys...

 

This one is positioned correctly...the white foam board fell on the kitty's tail and he got stuck, so I snapped away from above ...

Love this one...I think he's my fave...too cute! Just a little light relief and some fun on this April Fool's Day!

The Orange Lamps Part 2...

Well, it happened...do you remember the orange lamps I was stalking? well, after my third visit back to the store, I caved, I bought, I spent $$...my crush on them just wouldn't let up. So, here they are in my bedroom next to the bed (either side) - this is just a shot of one of the lamps...aren't they gorgeous???

Over the bed hangs a print of Van Gogh's 'La Chambre de L'Artiste' with an orange bed ---pulling the colors together when you look at the wall...

On another wall is a print of 'Costume Design in Film' from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and blue and white checked curtains...the room had too much blue and I wanted to add the complementary color (orange) to give it some 'oomph.' Mission accomplished.

Anyone else like blue and orange together? its quite a nice, livable combo.

Coco Male in House Beautiful UK...

Though this issue has been out for a little while...I just picked it up and wanted to give a little 'shout-out' to my fellow bloggers who are also 'blog friends' Katie and Emily (and Coco too!) who are featured on page 15!

The piece shown is from the company's 'Hanoi' range - a sideboard 'painted in a linen white,' and described as 'perfect for hiding away essential family clutter.' This is a gorgeous piece and looks great with that fab wallpaper! Congratulations! Thank you for your support of my blog too - I really do appreciate it!! xx

Lucky blue...

One of my favorite fashion mags, Lucky, has featured the color in their March issue and it made me think about the design world...because...

Lo and behold, House Beautiful has featured the color blue throughout the entire March issue...this gorgeous room above and below is on the cover (designed by Tobi Fairley & original photos by Francesco Lagnese).

I love the connection between the fashion and design worlds...the two are so connected and influence each other all the time. So, next time you go to Macy's...look for some design inspiration from all the fashion collections...maybe your new couch fabric or curtains will be influenced by a Donna Karan print...

PS: interesting note that the March birthstone is aquamarine...
